Those lily of the valley will spread EVERYWHERE and take over. Put them in an out of the way corner where they can't travel so far – come and pick the little lilies in May for tiny vases, they smell strong in the house. Nice!

How nice that you have a plot at the edge, instead of being surrounded by others. More private. Great to see sun! We are just warming up in Western Canada too..๐Ÿ˜Ž

Sean, hey, hey, we have clear skies and sunshine here in Nebraska today as well. I'm hoping to get out side and start digging in the dirt as well. It's going to be 56F (13.3C) degrees here today. With the sun shining brightly it will feel great. The forecast says more snow on tap for tomorrow. The temperature will be warm enough to keep it melted so no worries expect for the soil still being cold and damp. It's going to be a very late start for gardening this year.

Have a great day in the sunshine on the railway allotment.

It's April and we've gotten about eight inches of snow (plus another couple inches of rain/ice a few days before) this last weekend.

I don't even remember what bare soil looks like. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I like it when it's sunny, a bit cloudy and a breeze. That is perfect for me. Looking good ๐Ÿ˜€

Great video. Where I live here in Vt, we can't have bird feeders in our yards at the moment. The bears are waking up and going into peoples yards and eating the bird seed. Some bears are so bold they will go and look into the house windows. I love lily of the valley, their scent is pure heaven.

Love your bird station, itโ€™s so relaxing watching the birds and it seems like there are a lot around there. The idea for an arbour sounds perfect, canโ€™t wait to see what you decide on. It looks like you caught the sun, itโ€™s amazing how hot it was and more to come this week โ˜€๏ธ

As someone else noticed it seems a very long walk to the water. Not sure if it would be worth it but you could put gutters on the shed and and collect rain water into a water barrel. Drip system for the flowers? Just a thought.

Great job Sean. The bird feeder is so lovely, and hopefully Vinnie can find a few dropped seeds (I'm not sure if you're planning to 'keep' him, but I noticed you leaving the sawdust there for him, so I'm guessing you maybe are). I've got a flowerbed beside my shed too, perfect place for a cuppa. I grow an annual called 'nemesia wisley vanilla' next to my bench, and the scent is gorgeous, if you're looking to grow more scented flowers I'd recommend it.

An arbor with a clematis is the ticket!, Keeping my fingers cross for all the little plants you set out today,ย  that will be a nice corner next to your patio ,well done, Sean.

I like the seating and flower area its going to be lovely when flowers out.I think an arbour is a good idea for giving a spot of shade when the midday sun is up.Your water tap looks a way from your plot.. suggestion… maybe get a couple more cans or buckets and a wheelbarrow to cart the water.Anyway You did a good days work.

I think you could be busy with those Brambles on the railway side ,how about covering the fence with cheap green scaffold debris netting it should keep the brambles on the railway side and provide a wind shield until you get chance to extend the timber screening. I hope your Lilly of the valley take ,I bought loads of it and it did not take here, it is such a fantastic addition.

    (July 31, 2018 - 2:34 am)

Lily of the Valley sure are pretty, but they're also relentless spreaders. I wish I had planted ours in a container because they keep leaving the bed. Good luck with yours.

You are a real inspiration Sean. Thank you. Rainy day here but not cold! Finally!
I have a peach tree and red Japanese maple still in my suv since yesterday. Going to at least get that out into the rain. ๐Ÿ˜Š Then have a cup of tea. Ha
Yes, do a little bit as often as my 70 yrs will let me.
I made an arch way with rebar and green plastic coated fencing. Purple clematis and pink climbing rose on one side and white New Dawn on the other. All budding out.

    It's only me

    (July 31, 2018 - 2:34 am)

I was too scared to go outside today cos of that yellow thing in the sky…couldn't work out what it was..lol ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒž Thanks for the early April vlog, starting to take shape now especially in the sunshine. Ann
