This song stayed with me a long time, and I never quite forgot it. The melody is wonderful, the lyrics are good too. I only heard it a few times, but it got inside my head, and then I didn't hear it again for years. I never heard of Nick Lampe again. It's a bit in the San Francisco Scott McKenzie territory, a great song, but you never heard of them again……

I have those lyrics for you, Glenn. Can't post them here…too many characters. How can I get them to you?

Nick was American and never knew this great song made the charts in Melbourne Australia. He quit the music business and is a social worker in NYC. He faced a problem in that he sounded like Cat Stevens who was HUGE at the time.

I don't think I've heard this since 1970. I found myself singing it while I was doing the dishes tonight. What a fantastic song. Found it by searching 3UZ charts. So well produced! Brilliantly sung. Thankyou so much for this treasure dougiejohn.

This song has been one of my favourites ever since I first heard it age 12 in 1970. Classic.
