    I think you would be fine.
    You don't need a light setup if you have a couple nice south facing windows.Remember that some plants go dormant in the winter and some are more evergreen. If you keep your house over 65 in the winter you should be fine. But, you must check the humidity levels. Usually in the winter they drop, so that might require some watering here or there, or like I like to do is misting almost daily.
    What kinds of fruits are you interested in? The Meyer Lemon is great start.

    interesting video, im thinking about growing some fruit plants indoors as well. i live in a chicago and its wintertime would i just be dooming any plants if i started to grow some now? any fruits that you know of that would grow well indoors without an expensive light purchase?
