Hi! Nice video. Have you written any paper about all this system? If not, could you recomend any paper/book on how to start with this kind of complexity? I know the basics in aquaponics.
    Thank you.

I wonder why his "is garden" is so poor : no flowers, no thick bushes, nothing my eyes could be caught if I'd pass in front of his house. I hope things got better after the video.
But I had a grand father who loved building things… but couldn't feel the use of a cosy, good looking house. A very pratctical guy, but certainly not a poet.
This man's house looks like a laboratory.

so what is your yearly cost to run this verses the value of produce grown?

How ingenious can one man be ?
I am amazed by this level of skill and knowledge.
Aquaponics as a method of production has amazing potential for producing good quality food while drasticly reducing environmental impact. This is very positive.

Thank you soo much +Kirsten for making this video… and Rik, I am totally blown away with Automation in Aquaponics. Thank you so much for sharing the technology & electronics behind it. though I wanna learn more about Aquaponics and its automation & start in my town in india… hey Rik, can you help me ? :)

I like how you are the one putting everything together. you, sir, have helped see my ideas into action and have inspired me to continue. Continue your work, don't let negative people affect you by suppressed thinking of how we should live in this society.

Good job Rik Kretzinger, this is really great work you are doing. It all has to start somewhere and no one ever gets everything right the first time. By the looks of some comments, there is a lot of internet heroes on here that have a lot of bad things to complain about be it money or the fish or "fake" food. But this concept someday will be the norm for a lot of people around the world for there daily food and it sure beats boxed garbage food that most eat. Keep up the great work and hope to see updates soon. We need more people like you that walk the walk not just talk the talk

OMG this is the shit! love it. but why not have a floater like the one on the toilet to stop the water from going in. it's more simple than the sensors or ex…

fascinating, on a larger scale you are talking about distributed urban farming, throw in a few solar panels + a battery & the system can be mostly self sustained.
one question (for perspective ) you use circulation to clean the fish water do you also use it to fertilize the plants? if true is this enough?

"I can run a whole farm from here".

Pointing to a windowless corner in a tiny room. Man, thats depressing. The whole reason I love farming is because it connects me with nature, gets me outside, away from from a computer screen. Most importantly it connects me with people, face ti face, and connects me with my food. Aquaponics doesn't have to be so high tech to be efficient. To each his own.
