Hi Mark, talking about woodchips, what's your view on eucalyptus woodchip, i can get loads of woodchip from local tree maintenance guys but it nearly always has eucalyptus wood and leaves in it and I've heard that's alleliopathic?, what woodchips do you use? I'm also in SE QLD, cheers, Rob.

Do you have any problems with cross-polination. Planting just one of one type is risky, isn't it?

We used to have a TV program called, Crocket's Victory Garden, hosted by an old time gardener who really knew his stuff and I remember he always said never plant a $50 tree in $5 hole. He would have approved your tree planting method.

OMG Mark, how many fruit trees do you have….. loads, and they're all producing like a boss! I'm happy if a get 6 Gooseberries on my plants, your bushes are loaded, you should open up a fruit and veg shop 🙂 Nice demo on the planting of the tree…. Do you remove some of the woodchips at a later stage or just let the compost into the ground? Cheers Adam

Man, I love the unusual varieties of things that you can grow, Mark!

Good job Mark This is how I plant my fruit trees too unless the soil really needs amending. I have a few trees to plant soon. Well, the sooner I get them in the sooner we will enjoy some fruits. I  love your orchard.

Why do you need such a tall thick mound of mulch? How do you know how much you need?

Hey Mark, we've already planted a quite a few fruit trees and they seem to be doing well… We plan on doing a clip as to how we put them in, and as you say, there are many methods out there…. I reckon the one we've found though will give you quite a giggle… Each tree takes us a full day lol 🙂 … Chris

That is great you got a new tree. It will be happy with the environment you created for it.
