Does the 5-1-1 fish fertilizer you use very stinky? I only have a container garden for apartment balcony and only grow leafy greens. I just started this February for the first time. Love your videos. Thanks.

From a resident of a 4.5-5.0 zone, high desert with regular late freezes in the spring, 105+ summer days, and surprise/early snows in the fall, I simply love how much food you are able to harvest already this year from your outdoor garden! The grape vines are looking amazing, and it's always great to see Squeak. Do you add any fertilizer to the beds each year other than the fish emulsion and bloom boost?

Used to live in Virginia, had 50 acres and all manner of varmints including ground hogs. Had a huge garden, and the only thing the ground hogs ever bothered was a bleeding heart plant. They would not let me keep one alive. The only thing I can think of that would work to keep them out of a garden would be to put in a dog run that completely surrounded it. Not very practical in your situation, and the barking would drive everyone crazy. You could surround your garden with electrical wires or fencing. Regular fences don't work as ground hogs will quickly dig under, and can climb, I've seen them do it. Now live in Austin, TX and garden mostly in pots. Don't have ground hogs, but do have ring tails. They get my peaches first. Nearly everything is a challenge to grow here. You've helped a lot.

You're editing has gotten so much more fun and entertaining. It was never bad, but it is just getting so good now. You were one of the first gardening channels I ever started following and still the most entertaining.

I (not terribly long ago) lost the few plants I was gardening. I was away for some weeks or so (I was lucky enough to marry the love of my life), but I didn't have anyone looking after my plants while I was out of town, and I think a heat wave must've wiped them out (I'm a Floridian). There were some lettus that had gone to seed, so no great loss there, but what really bummed me out (relatively) was that a raspberry bramble that was doing alright beforehand seems completely dead now. What makes matters worse from a gardening standpoint is that my lease at my current place is up after July, so it doesn't make sense to start taking care of new plants until after I (and my wife) move. I think once we're settled at our new place (wherever that is) encouragement won't be much of an issue, but still, I'm curious what advice you might have for staying encouraged and/or passionate about gardening, especially when things aren't at their best.
Thank you BubbleBeet, and I love you and your videos, and Squeak, and your garden.
    Best wishes,
    –Michael
