I am a novice, by that I mean I haven't made a quilt yet. I want to do the Grandmother's Flower Garden. I love cottage decor and old fashioned quilts, so this fits the ticket. It looks like if I master the hexagon, I can make the quilt.

Thank you so much, I have spent hours cutting small individual hexagons from a template and many hours paper piecing them together to the point I gave up. I know that using your techniques I can not only finish my project but get it done much faster, I can't thank you enough 😊

✿The "seam-lock/no seam-lock" rule has me elated, enabling that my piecing will work! ✿

Kaye Wood is brilliant! I have been trying to master hexagons, and this technique is great. I had no idea I could cut my own so easily. Also, I love the item of not always sewing to a dot. In fact, everything Kaye teaches is amazing. My only problem with this video is the quilt at the end of the video. It is puckered and not very attractive. Surely this isn't the quality of work usually done by Kaye Wood.

It will be more likely faster not to stop at the quarter inch seam!  Yea! Thanks!

Hi Kaye, I have 50 or so flower garden blocks that my grandma did before she passed away. To put a quilt together, would you do appliqués or would u try to match the size of the hexagons to make borders around the blocks. Any help is appreciated.

Brilliant, thanks for a great video, just one question, why couldn't you use the Janome locking stitch?, I didn't think that moved backwards, thanks

I loved this lesson. I just hate doing those set in seams and did not like to idea of hand sewing hexies lol. This is a fantastic way to do them. Thank you Kaye

This really is amazing technique of sewing hexagons. When I was a teenager I made a hexagon quilt by hand. Cutting fabric, cardboard templates and sewing them together, it took years for me to finish.
