This is not true at all actually i listen to you and i kill my fruit trees with vegeterian oil.mixed with water 50/50%
the trees sucked all the oil in the trunk ,all the skin turned brown no green layers left and died i had my trees for 13 years and no i killed them cause of your stupid idea

This is not true in my experience!!! Apple maggot, codling moth ,plum curculio(the pests that make fruit unusable &/or prematurely fall from the tree) DON'T overwinter on the tree…they can fly in from elsewhere….Dormant oil sprays won't kill them.Even with careful sanitation & keeping chickens running free to pick up fallen fruit(containing larvae) I still need to spray during the growing season in order to get ANY usable fruit at all….I don't mean cosmetically perfect either, just usable.
