The little oranges are so cute. Thanks for the video. I got some seeds from a friend of mine and I have six little orange trees growing after having them in a wet paper towel for over a month. They are now about 5 in tall with several leaves. It will be awhile before I get any oranges! 😜🤔

My Calamondin tree is outdoors and EVERY fruit ends up with a brown spot on the bottom if I wait for it to ripen. Even yellow ones have a brown spot. I have to pick them green and eat in order to avoid the brown spot. I tried to eat them by cutting away the bottom 1/2 of the orange but the spot makes the whole fruit taste disgusting. What am I doing wrong. I'm in West Florida but I grew up in Miami with these aplenty and never saw the first spot. I have a 2' circle around the tree and St. Augustine grass on the outside of that. Just like the ones in Miami. What am I doing wrong? What does it need?

    (February 16, 2019 - 8:05 pm)

My tree is outside and it has been bearing fruit for 2 years. BUT the fruit never gets to orange. I have to eat the fruit at barely yellow, mostly green, because by the time each fruit is orange, it has a brown soggy spot on the bottom and is inedible . Do you know of this phenomenon? do you have any ideas what to do to make them ripen correctly?

This kind of oranges is common in Philippines we call it calamansi, we can harvest it even if its yellow green and it has lots of fragrant smell of the juice, we love this… and i have a mother plant right now and a lot of seedlings that i grow from the. Seeds of my mother plant,,, easy to germinate

Stop calling it Orange. You just said that there's a sour taste to it and the fruit you sampled was as ripe as its gonna get. That means its a sour fruit and if thats the case, then its certainly a Calamansi fruit from the Philippines, used like a lemon. Question: You said you were going to make a marmalade, so how did that turn out? Probably the most sour marmalade ever eh. Its a Calamansi, sour (lemon) fruit.
