Something that you might already have that will save you time and drama is fishline weights, put a few weights around the edges to keep the weight pointed down that should help.

Rufus likes the new toy! I had to put the same netting up last year over my strawberries. As for the fake owls, the birds loved to perch on top of mine also.

The coons ate most of my sweet corn last year. This year I'm trying an electric fence and a loud radio. This may work for deer and rabbits too…… Donald

Do the birds ever mess with your outside gardens?

I have 4 fake owls with the swivel heads. The birds use them as perches. So far the net is 100% effective and my little plants are doing much better. Some have actually made it over and inch tall now. LOL …… Donald

It's not just a few, it's whole flocks just waiting on the outside. Kind of like the movie "Birds". LOL I've had a few try the net and were surprised. It's really hard to see until they get right up on it……. Donald

mic sounds good donald , i saw a gardener guy on the news take these big motion activated halloween spiders to scare birds off a window box . might work in your good in your greenhouse.

When wearing my Overalls I can't put the mike in my pocket because the material is too thick and it muffles the sound. A T-Shirt pocket is ok. Since I started using it I don't think I've had wind noise in any of the videos and I shot quit a few in a lot of wind. It'ssimply a piece of foam about 1 inch thick that I slit with my pocket knife and slipped the tiny mike into…… Donald

    Hi Donald,

Good solution that for the birds. perhaps some chain or a few small sand bags cable tied to the netting on the ground would help stop the wind moving it ?

Wish I lived near someone like yourself again

you know i have this cat he is pretty fat for a kitten but he catches so many birds i could send him to you. lol j/k but our cat does catch tones of birds like 5 times every couple of months. Your cat is cute and i love your dogs. hope to see more updates.

if the bottom of the net gets too loose and blows around you could tie some wheel weights to the bottom and that should weight it down real good

    (December 14, 2016 - 1:16 pm)

That was making too many holes in the roof. LOL …… Donald

I was in a hurry to order the netting and did not take the time to do much research. That cat is useless when it comes to scaring birds. All he enjoys doing it fighting with the dog and eating. They fight all day and sleep together at night. Thanks for the advice…… Donald

I'll try it but these birds adapt quickly. The fake owl only worked for about two days as well as the rubber snakes…… Donald

The whole time I am in the shop the cat gets on one side and the dog on the other, they fight through the netting. The cat will hang on it, roll up in, bite it and it has yet to stretch or break. It is some tough stuff…… Donald
