It can be Sad when you have to give things up , I liked all your carrots and stuff! but if it’s not worth the work and you don’t enjoy it anymore, no reason to do it!

I think I recall Tony UKHG doing a trial growing potatoes in buckets using perlite, hoping that it would help retain water for a better yeal. The result was poor. BTW that Oscillating hoe appears to be difficult to get hold of now.

I'm doing a lot more flowers this year, as well, if they survive my "care". Very nice to see California poppies are available over there – I'm in California and I just never get tired of them!

Just a hint, if you want to get any of that fruit, you are going to have to cover it. The birds will eat every bit otherwise.

I've been buying seeds from the dollar shop since testing them one year with success. Great for basics. Others I buy from name brand companies at a hardware store.

My rhubarb gets eaten by deer every year if I don;t cover it completely. Deer eat just about everything here even things that could make them sick. They leave digitalis and daffodil family alone.

Thats gonna be humming with bees and butterflies if they all come up. Really look forward to seeing how that flower bed develops. I have to say you do get some really good quality seeds and plants from the pound shop. They make gardening affordable for every one.

Love the flower garden idea, Bees will thank you for it. If you don't have any zinnia in your flower mix, I highly suggest them. You can't beat a packet of zinnia for carefree easy colorful blooms, very carefree and excellent re-seeding themselves too. The trees in your field are taking off fast, are they birch?

The little appreciated Hula hoe. Glad it’s making a comeback. I’ve been without one for 30 years. Maybe soon I’ll be able to find one in my area.
